Magnificent 17th-century approx(and it could be earlier) Spanish or colonial spanish silver centerpiece is almost pure silver with a royal heraldic coat of arms in repousse, the feet are formed as shells. It was expertly crafted with an artistic eye for detail. The House of Bourbon is a European dynasty of French origin. Bourbon kings first ruled France and Navarre in the 16th century. By the 18th century, members of the Spanish Bourbon dynasty held thrones in Spain, Naples, Sicily, and Parma.The scallop-designed bowl is gracefully surmounted by a repoussé foliate scroll aureole, which is centered around an impressive Bourbon royal coat of arms beneath a royal crown. This exquisite piece is further enhanced by three conch-form feet and additional scroll designs surrounding a charming floral depiction in relief at the base of the bowl.
